Australia - Praying for Aliyah Highways
Australia has been a safe haven for Jewish people for over 200 years. The expanse of the world’s driest continent, covering 7,600 square kilometres, is sparsely populated with just 23 million inhabitants. Living mainly in the largest coastal cities is a vibrant 120,000-strong Jewish community, many of them descended from immigrants who arrived here in the last century as refugees and holocaust survivors. They have made a profound contribution to Australian society and culture across fields such as medicine, law, music, the arts, science, the military forces, government and business. In...
Germany - Hearts Knitted Together
The first European Ebenezer Conference drew 130 delegates representing 10 countries to Berlin for four days in January. Entitled ‘Prepare the Way’, our hearts were knitted together with the Lord’s for the re-gathering of the Jewish people to Israel from all over Europe. We were encouraged by our co-workers’ reports and challenged and greatly blessed by our guest speaker, Willem Glashouwer, leader of Christians for Israel International (CVI). Referring to Matthew 16:1-3, he said there is an urgent need for us and the churches to understand ‘God’s weather forecast’ in discerning the signs of...
Japan - Building On a Rich Heritage
Although Christians only number around 0.5 per cent of Japan’s population, many have an understanding of Israel and aliyah. A key to this is a passionate prayer movement which began in the 1930s and spread from Japan to other eastern Asia countries. I saw this zeal to see the return of the Jewish people to Israel when I spoke at an Asia Messianic Forum in Tokyo in 2011 and it has increased since then. Japan has a history of compassion towards Jewish people. In 1938 General Kiichiro Higuchi rescued 20,000 Jews who were freezing to death in Manchuria (in modern north-eastern China) after...
Ministry In Israel: Jerusalem Office
‘I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these My brothers and sisters, you were doing it to Me!’ (Matt 37:40) Operation Exodus opened its Jerusalem office in 2006 under the supervision of Shirley Lawrenson, Olim Liaison. This was a timely event, because during that year Israel fought a war in southern Lebanon with the Hezbollah terrorist organization and northern Israel was under missile bombardment. Shirley made several trips to the north to provide families with comfort and aid, even as missiles fell around them. The main purpose and focus of the Jerusalem office is to reach...
A Divine Appointment in Jerusalem
"...I will choose you “one from a town and two from a clan" and bring you to Zion." Jeremiah 3:14 Shalom from Jerusalem! At the Operation Exodus office in Jerusalem, we continue to reach out to the olim (new immigrants) who are in need, and we help them settle in the land of Israel. We are here to bring hope to those who find themselves in difficulties like finding the money for meals or paying the latest utility bill. We also give support, encouragement and advice to those needing information about the next step in completing their absorption process in Israel. We also meet them through...
Providing Aid And Comfort To The Olim (Immigrants) In The Land
Meeting Their Many Needs! “Comfort, yes, comfort my people!” Says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the LORD’S hand double for all her sins.” “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for...
The Door is Open
The word of the Lord came to me: "What do you see, Jeremiah?" "I see the branch of an almond tree," I replied. The Lord said to me, "You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled." Jeremiah 1:11-12 I recently took some time away to ask the Lord several questions, one being, "What season are we in, and are we in line with your will?" As I began to pray, I was struck and filled with joy and gratitude at what I saw happening in the USA. Please read the following words of Jewish people Operation Exodus USA has helped make aliyah: Eric : " My name is Eric and I am...
