History
International
God showed our founder, Gustav Scheller, that it was His plan and purpose to bring the Jewish people back to Israel and that Gustav would be involved in doing so.
Nine years later, during an international prayer conference in Jerusalem, the Lord made it clear that the time had arrived. In response, Gustav opened the first Ebenezer Emergency Fund International office in Bournemouth, England, in 1991. Later that year, with funds donated from supporters, Ebenezer Emergency Fund International financed Jewish Agency flights from Budapest, Hungary, bringing 720 Russian Jews to Israel.
Since that time, Ebenezer Emergency Fund International (now known as Ebenezer Operation Exodus International) has assisted over 200,000 immigrants to return by plane and by ship and begun work in over 50 countries. We also started our humanitarian aid program in 1994, donating tons of aid throughout the former Soviet Union (fSU).
USA
Operation Exodus USA has had representatives in the USA since the 1990s. In 2004, we opened an office in Buffalo, New York and assisted our first immigrant to return from the USA to Israel in 2006.
The work quickly expanded—we assisted 76 people in 2010 and almost 300 in 2013. To date, we have assisted close to 5,000 Jewish people from the USA. We believe the numbers will continue to increase over the next several years and are preparing to assist much larger numbers in the future, to God be the glory.
We have several staff and volunteers serving throughout the USA with concentrations along the East Coast, New York Region, and the Great Lakes Region, as well as in our growing National Office in Buffalo, NY.
