THE HAND OF THE LORD UPROOTS AND PLANTS

I will bring my exiled people of Israel back from distant lands… I will firmly plant them there in their own land. They will never again be uprooted from the land I have given them, says the LORD your God. Amos 9:14-15 NLT

The prophet Amos described a moment in history when God Himself would draw His people home and establish them securely in the Land He gave to them as an inheritance. God scattered His chosen people to the farthest corners of the earth, yet in His faithfulness He promised to gather them again to plant them in Israel.

Today, we are witnessing this prophecy unfold before our eyes. At the same time, we are confronted with a sobering reality. Hostility toward Jewish people has surged to levels not seen since the Holocaust. Even New York City — long considered the safest, most vibrant center of Jewish life outside Israel — has become a flashpoint. One of the world’s largest Jewish communities now faces an atmosphere of open hostility toward Israel and Jewish identity that is immediate, visible, and deeply unsettling. For many, this is a wake-up call.

Throughout Scripture, God uses upheaval to move His people out of complacency and out of danger, aligning them with His purposes. The shaking of the nations often precedes the gathering of Israel. Amos 9:9 speaks of a time when God will sift His people among the nations — not to harm them, but to bring them home. His desire is restoration — to renew relationship with His chosen people, to bless, and prosper them in the Land.

As 2026 unfolds, our Jewish friends stand at a crossroads. The diaspora is becoming more unstable, less welcoming, and increasingly unpredictable. Israel — despite its challenges — is becoming a place of identity, purpose, and belonging. More Jewish people are sensing the pull to return to the Land, to contribute to Israel’s growth, and to stand with their people. For many American Jews, the question is shifting from Why go? to Why stay?

This is not a moment for hesitation or distraction. It is a moment for clarity, courage, and Spirit-led intercession. To our faithful core of intercessors, I say, a heartfelt thank you! Your prayers and discernment, aligned with the Spirit of God, are helping prepare the way for the return of the Jewish people. May we discern the timing of the LORD and be ready to help all who need assistance as the LORD uproots and plants them in Israel — never to be uprooted again. Those who partner with the LORD in prayer and support are participating in the unfolding of His covenant purposes.

I will bring my exiled people of Israel back from distant lands, and they will rebuild their ruined cities and live in them again. Amos 9:14 NLT
