The Hope THE REBIRTH OF ISRAEL
A DVD Hosted by Gordon Robertson, CBN
“The Hope: The Rebirth of Israel DVD is the story of the half-century before Israel’s rebirth. Told through the eyes of the Nation’s Founders.
- Theodor Herzl: The “Father of Modern Zionism”, who devoted his life to the idea of a Jewish State.
- Chaim Weizmann: Israel’s first President, who helped secure international support for the State of Israel.
- David Ben-Gurion: Israel’s founder and first Prime Minister, whose love for the Bible inspired his drive for independence.
- Golda Meir: The former schoolteacher who raised millions for the Israeli army and held secret peace talks with the Arabs.”
In this accessible, behind-the-scenes guide, internationally renowned teacher and scholar, Derek Prince, goes beyond the headlines and immerses you in what the Bible has to say about Israel.
Though it may seem distant from our modern lives, the drama playing out in the Middle East on the world stage has consequences beyond what we can imagine. And in the tumult of it all, one tiny nation will become the watershed of world events, affecting us all.
God has established firm covenants with both Israel and the Church. The only reliable source of light upon the situation in the Middle East is provided by God’s prophetic Word.
The following are among the questions tackled by Derek Prince in this thorough study of God’s prophecies concerning the land and people of Israel.
- Has the church replaced Israel in God’s plan?
- Why is the tiny nation of Israel the focus of world attention?
- What is the restoration of Israel?
- What is the responsibility of Christians toward Israel?

Intercession was one of the great marks of the ministry of Jesus. A description of His atoning work is mentioned in Isaiah, Chapter 53, concluding with verse 12: Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. (NKJV)

“Why another book on Israel?” you may ask. At the dawn of the information age, most Christians already seem laden with information overload and even prophetic burnout. Well, this book focuses on an extremely important but neglected subject—a God-given burden of mine, conceived in my heart over the past several years. I trust it will be a wake-up call to the church that will stir, enlighten and challenge you to action and involvement.
God’s plan for the return of the Jewish people to Israel
The return of the Jewish people to the land from which they were banished nearly 2,000 years ago is one of the greatest miracles of all time. Just as amazing is the fact that the Hebrew prophets predicted this return more than 3,000 years ago!
“Reading Wendy Beckett’s thirty-day devotional God Keeps Covenant has blessed me greatly. Each day contains an important message and an unmistakable call for the Body of Christ. It is a treasure of excellent teaching derived straight from the Bible where God’s heart of love for His people is revealed and how we, the church, fit into His plan of Israel’s restoration. I highly recommend this devotional to anyone who has a love for God and a desire to discover the richness of His covenant promises.”
God Himself will bring His people home. But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase (Jeremiah 23:3). In this context we find a Scripture that shows how eager God is to accomplish this: Jeremiah 32:41, Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.
In His conversation with the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well, Jesus told her: “You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22). By “you” Jesus was referring to the Samaritans; by “we” He was referring to the Jews.
As we begin our teaching on this very important subject of Why Israel, let’s start by asking a question of ourselves: On what basis are we praying for Israel? The simplest answer is that “Salvation is from the Jews” (John 4:22). As Christians, we need to acknowledge our unfathomable debt to Israel and to always pray on the basis of that total indebtedness.
It is important to have a clear understanding of the place Israel has in God’s plan of redemptive history. Without a revelation of Israel’s prophetic role, it is impossible to understand rightly, what the Bible says about the present and future—including the return of Jesus Christ, the triumph of His Kingdom on earth and the culmination of God’s plan for the ages.
Biblical Prophesy
What the Bible teaches about the Jewish people and their return to the Promised Land.
They shall go after the LORD; he will roar like a lion;
when he roars, his children shall come
trembling from the west.
Hosea 11:10 ESV
In the middle of the first Gulf War with missiles flying over Israel, 120 Christians gathered in Jerusalem for a prayer conference – and were swept up in an adventure they scarcely could have imagined. This book is the story of the return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel after nearly 2,000 years of living in exile. It is a testimony to God’s love for the nation of Israel and a remarkable fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. It is also a modern-day example of extraordinary faith and courage by the author, Gustav Scheller. Ebenezer Operation Exodus has helped over 160,000 Jewish people to return to Israel since 1991. It continues to do so and invites you to become involved.
Bringing The Jewish People Home
Rev. Willem J. J. Glashouwer
There is a great need in churches and among individual Christians for understanding from the Scriptures of God’s purposes for Israel, the Church and the nations. From time to time we will be publishing with the Bulletin articles aimed at helping in this understanding. In the first of these, Willem Glashouwer explains how the return of the Jewish people to Israel from all over the world and the Second Coming of Christ are parallel events happening at the end of the age—and we are living in these end times.
