SHAKING OF ALL THINGS

Merrill Bolender  – Revised March 2020

I believe the Lord God wants His people to understand the times and know what He wants to accomplish during this world-wide shaking.

The sons of Issachar understood the times, they also understood the spiritual and political times.  The sons of Issachar could discern what God was doing and when He was doing it. They knew when one move of God was ending and another one was beginning. 1 Chronicles 12:32 (Paraphrased)

“Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken— that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.  (The only thing that cannot be shaken is the Kingdom of God.)  Hebrews 12:23b NIV

God’s Shaking Is Including “Every Facet Of Society” World-Wide

  • Social world – distancing – quarantine
  • Business world: Economy, stock market
  • Educational world
  • Sports world
  • Entertainment world
  • International and cruise ship travel
  • Medical world overwhelmed
  • Religious world
  • Church world

Things God Wants To Accomplish During This Shaking

Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by. See, the Lord is coming out of his dwelling to punish the people of the earth for their sins. Isaiah 26:26:21 NIV

  1. I believe God wants to wean His people from our idols of mammon, entertainment, pleasure and earthy securities.

The love of the world has crowded out the love of God. Some of the pleasures and entertainment of the world can be all right if kept in moderation, but our priorities need to put God and His Kingdom first place.

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.” 1 John 2:15 NIV

We need to take this time of isolation from the distractions of the world and have a personal revival where our focus is the only thing that matters, Jesus and His Kingdom.

  1. Change our priorities from seeking and living the American dream to

“…seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness

and then all these things will be added unto us.”

Matthew 6:33

  1. Cleanse His church:

“Be you holy as I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:16 It’s a family trait.

“…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways (repentance), then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV

During this time, just like the plagues of Egypt when God sent plagues that touched their idols of everything they worshipped, God has taken away everything we worship.  Is God saying,

  • “You want to worship athletes, I’ll shut down your stadiums.”
  • “You want to worship musicians, I’ll shut down the Civic Centers.”
  • “You want to worship actors, I’ll shut down the theaters.”
  • “You want to worship mammon, I’ll shut down the economy.”

Today this invisible plague has touched, worldwide, the idols of mammon (economy), entertainment, pleasure, hedonism, as every facet of society has been affected. Most of these things are OK when kept in moderation, but for many, they have become a priority focus.

The American Dream can be an idol if the love of the world crowds out God’s first command, to love the Lord with all our soul, mind, and strength.  God is shaking every facet of society  worldwide preparing the way for the great harvest and latter rain.  Pentecost was the former rain that precipitated a harvest. The latter rain will bring on the final harvest…then will the end come…!

God Wants Us To Stretch Our Thinking To the Restoration of All Things… (Acts 3:20-21)  Let’s focus on the church world and the shaking of all things. I feel that the Lord is moving the churches from large man-made denominational organizations, mega-churches, large gatherings and even conferences to small groups. The early church began in homes and  small groups and in these “last days” will return to the homes scattered among the neighborhoods in the cities and rural areas.

Years ago, I heard a speaker make a statement that challenged my thinking as a minister.  He said, “Sunday morning preaching and teaching can be informational and inspirational but not necessarily life changing except in the context of small groups where there is commitment, transparency, accountability, practical caring for one another and evangelism.

It appears to me that what we are experiencing may be Phase 1 of this happening. We need to pray and fast for discernment, direction and flexibility. We need to encourage and strengthen the small groups.  Phase 1 still allows us to be together corporately by Streaming”.   Phase 2 might be when our utilities and electronics may be cut off making our corporate meetings impossible.  Phase 3 when meeting is no longer legal. The church will need to go underground.

This happened in China, when the churches were torn down, pastors and leaders of the flock were killed or imprisoned, Bibles were taken and burned, and hymnals were burned along with teaching materials. The church leadership fell into laymen’s hands meeting secretly. Here in the West when no news was coming out of China, we thought the church had died. Only decades later, we learned the church has multiplied rapidly, with a unity never before experienced in China. Evangelism exploded with many miracles, signs and wonders confirming the Word of God. In small group necessity and concept, the church in China grew from approximately 3 million to 100+ million in a few short decades.

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:27

I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18b

The early church flourished and multiplied faster under persecution than when it was safely living in Jerusalem. When persecution began, starting with Stephen’s martyrdom, it spread in Judea, Samaria and then to the uttermost parts of the world.

Could this be the time…?

For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.”

Romans 9:28 NKJV

FASTEN YOUR SEATBELTS

God is orchestrating the affairs of men and nations accomplishing His purposes, working through unrighteous as well as the righteous people.

When it looks like everything is falling apart…in God’s plans and purposes, they are all falling into place during the consummation of this age and preparation for His return. The stage is being set for seemingly worst-case scenario, when it looks like all is lost.

Let me say, up front, I believe the Lord is far more interested in completing the harvest, the restoration of Israel and the preparing of His Bride more than our enjoying the American Dream with our freedoms, our liberty, our peace and prosperity.

What the church is experiencing here in North America with our liberty, freedom, prosperity, and pleasure; it is going to be taken away, as much as we enjoy it. It is not normal church life as compared to the teachings of Jesus and the example of the early church.

He (the Father) may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive (will retain) until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. Acts 3:20-21 NKJV

This final harvest will prepare the way for Jesus Christ’s return to establish the Kingdom of God on earth.

“God’s ways are not our ways!”

He Who Has An Ear

HE WHO HAS AN EAR

BY STEVE LIGHTLE, AUTHOR AND INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER

Seven times in Revelation 2 and 3 (ESV), Yeshua declares to the  even churches, “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” This is a truly important saying for us today; we need to hear what the Spirit is saying to participate with our Heavenly Father in what He is doing. One of the great things He is doing is the Aliyah — returning the Jewish people home to Israel.
Eleven times in six verses (Jeremiah 32:37-42), He promises, “I will” perform the Aliyah, and He has given the nations the responsibility to bring them home (Isaiah 49:22). God has given commandments in the Bible to His children, His church, and His people. If we love Him, we will keep His commandments.

churchresponsibility

First, we pray. Psalm 122:6-9 is clear — we are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. God’s peace plan begins with Jerusalem and spreads to the other cities of the world. The blessing and promise to those who obey this command to pray for Jerusalem, love Jerusalem, and seek its good is that they will prosper; it is because Jerusalem is the house of the Lord our God. May the Church not miss this blessing. In Nehemiah 2:10 (NKJV), when Israel’s enemies learned that Nehemiah was sent to help Israel, “. . . they were deeply disturbed that a man had come to seek the wellbeing of the children of Israel.” Don’t let the enemy stop you from praying for Israel.

Secondly, the Church has a corporate responsibility to help the Jewish people (Romans 15:27). Thirteen times in Hebrews, we read, “Let us,” the plurality referring to our corporate responsibility (Hebrews 4:1,14,16; 6:1; 10:22-24; 12:1,28; 13:13,15). God brings us to maturity together, “. . . let us go on to perfection. . .” Hebrews 6:1 NKJV. We will remain like babies if we don’t, only feeding on milk (Hebrews 5:12-14).

Thirdly, what should our response be when disasters, drought, devouring locusts, or pestilence (AKA pandemics) come? If we “humble [ourselves], and pray and seek [His] face, and turn from [our] wicked ways,” then God will move, and forgiveness and healing will come. 2 Chronicles 7:12-16 NKJV. God will hear our prayers, and His presence will be in His house.

PRAYER POINTS

“And when he comes, he will . . . unplug the ears of the deaf.” Isaiah 35:5 NLT. Thank the LORD for His ability and willingness to open spiritually deaf ears. Pray earnestly for the Church to receive ears to hear from the Spirit about Aliyah.

“And may you have power, with all God’s people to grasp the full dimensions of God’s love” Paraphrase of Ephesians 3:18. Pray that those with ears to hear will embrace the corporate responsibility to help the Jewish people make Aliyah.

SHAVUOT

Chag Shavuot, translated the Festival of Weeks, is celebrated fifty days after the Passover by the Jewish people.

SHAVUOT CELEBRATION

Shavuot and Amalek

Chag Shavuot, translated the Festival of Weeks, is celebrated fifty days after the Passover by the Jewish people. This year it will be observed in Israel from Saturday evening, June 4, to Sunday evening, June 5. In the diaspora, it begins Saturday evening and ends Monday evening, June 6.

All Jewish men are commanded in Torah to appear before YHVH in Jerusalem on Shavuot. (Deut 16:16) The first fruits of the wheat harvest are offered on this day. It is a commemoration to receiving the Ten Words (Commandments) and entering covenant with YHVH, the God of Israel. For disciples of Yeshua, it is also a commemoration of the receiving the power of the Ruach Kodesh (Holy Spirit). (Luke 24:49)

Days before receiving the Torah, Moses took some of the elders of Israel to Mt. Horeb (Sinai) before all the people, and with the rod of God struck the Rock that YHVH stood on. Water came forth and the people drank the spiritual drink of the Rock of Messiah. (Exod 17:5-6, 1Cor 10:4)

Following the outpouring of the spiritual water of Messiah, the nation of Amalek came and fought against Israel. A miraculous victory was achieved, and Moses raised the staff of God, supported by Aaron and Hur, while Joshua led the army in battle. After the victory God said, “By the hand (Yeshua) upon the throne of YHVH, YHVH will war with Amalek from generation to generation.” (Exod 17:8-16)

The spirit of Amalek is alive and well today in the nations that come against Israel as it once again is being gathered to the land of promise by God. Chief among those nations is Iran, ancient Persia, who has vowed to wipe Israel off the map. Benny Gantz, Israel’s defense minister announced that Iran has enough fissile material to produce a nuclear weapon. They continue to add thousands of new centrifuges to make even more weapons grade uranium while simultaneously developing missile technology to deliver nuclear weapons.

God has said He will regather His people and like Aaron and Hur, it is our responsibility to intercede both spiritually and physically to war against, the powers and principalities of Amalek that come against the regathering of Israel by the Hand on the throne of YHVH, Yeshua.4, June 6.

Prayer Points:

  • Please pray for the Nation of Israel, all its inhabitants and its leadership to fulfill its destiny and to resist the spirit of Amalek who seeks to destroy it and hinder God’s plan to return His people to His land.
  • Please pray for an increase in Aliyah, particularly for those from the west and that the golden handcuffs that bind them be released.
  • Please pray for the highway to be established for the Jews of Russia and Ukraine to make Aliyah.
  • Please pray that when the Jews declare, “Next year in Jerusalem”, then follow through.
  • Please pray for an increase in housing and jobs in Israel to attract Jews to make Aliyah.

Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish. You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all.     Isaiah 41:11-12 ESV

Aliyah Continues Despite Europe in Crisis

Aliyah Continues despite Europe in crisis

Aliyah Continues Despite Europe In Crisis

by Pete Stucken, Chairman of Ebenezer Operation Exodus Int’l Board

War in Europe. The unthinkable became a chilling reality on February 24th of this year. Not for 77 years has Europe seen conflict on this scale. As Ukrainian cities were subjected to both ground attack and aerial bombardment, a massive humanitarian crisis unfolded.

With very little warning, Ebenezer Operation Exodus International found itself in the midst of it all. Our beginnings in 1991 were as an Emergency Fund, dealing with a very different kind of crisis: a massive stream of Olim from Russia and Ukraine, formerly forced to stay behind the Iron Curtain, now free to make Aliyah. For three decades, we have followed our calling in serving Aliyah, helping the exiles home to Israel: on ships from Odessa then later on flights from major cities in Russia and Ukraine. Olim streamed to Israel in great numbers. One and a quarter million came from the “land of the north”, the former Soviet Union (fSU). Despite huge challenges, Aliyah was a comparatively orderly process.

Well over half of the Jewish populations living in the “land of the north”, the regions to the north of Israel, made Aliyah in the three decades following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Yet while they responded to the call, many others remained behind.

Resonating through these years was Jeremiah’s prophecy concerning a change of season: ‘“Behold, I am going to send for many fishermen,” declares the LORD, “and they will fish for them; and afterwards I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain and every hill and from the clefts of the rocks”’ (Jeremiah 16:16, NASB).

The Lord is sovereign and moves in times and seasons; His purpose is unshakeable. Are we seeing the hunters being let loose in Ukraine?

The Prophet Zechariah’s words, written two and a half thousand years ago, sounding a future call to the Lord’s covenant people, ring out with renewed emphasis today: ‘“Ho there! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the LORD, “for I have dispersed you as the four winds of the heavens,” declares the LORD’ (Zechariah 2:6, NASB).

The time to flee is now. The time of the hunters brings urgency, danger and hardship. For us, it calls for a very different type of response, with readiness the key.

Ukraine has borders with Russia, Belarus, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova. The largest influx of refugees has been into Poland, and this quickly became the primary focus of our emergency response. Prepared and equipped by contingency planning and prayer invested over years, we sprang into action.

Within hours of the crisis unfolding our first-responder volunteer team arrived at the Polish border to scout the land, pray and find a site for a temporary base in proximity to the border crossings. Straight away we saw the Lord provide a small hotel, ideally located and accommodating up to 50 people. As Polish churches and volunteers stood ready to help, Ebenezer teams with vans and supplies began to arrive. Our French teams and their vehicles were the first on the scene, soon joined by others from the Netherlands and Germany.  Support streamed in from the nations, material and financial. Additional vans could be borrowed or bought to help collect Jewish refugees from the border crossings. Day and night they were brought to our base as a transit stop for rest and recuperation. Faces filled with emotion and tears flowed at the sight of a bed and a hot meal.

Mostly Jewish families came mixed in amongst the tide of people pressing towards the border exits, mainly women, children and the elderly, the men needing to remain to help defend Ukraine. Israeli medical teams at the border crossings referred needy refugees to us. From rabbis across Europe and as far afield as the USA came urgent pleas to locate and rescue relatives or individuals known to be in danger. At the same time generous expressions of gratitude arrived in the form of humanitarian supplies.

Our Ukraine team worked courageously and tirelessly around the clock, fielding a stream of anxious calls for assistance each day. Roads became dangerous, fuel scarce, border crossings clogged with those seeking to cross waiting long hours in the cold.

Special operations rescued Jewish community groups in active war zones, snatching them out under missile and artillery attack. The courage and ingenuity of the drivers was admirable. The Lord gave His protection. Generous gifts poured in for these vital missions.

In Moldova, our team has been active day and night in assisting Jewish refugees, particularly with transport. Dedicated Aliyah flights departed from Chisinau to Tel Aviv even with Moldovan airspace closed to normal air traffic. The Lord makes a way for His people!

Zechariah’s exhortation to “flee from the land of the north” is also resounding among remaining Jewish communities in Russia. Economic sanctions and the uncertainties of the future have brought a rise in the number of Jewish people seeking to make Aliyah. No matter where they’ve been scattered, the faithful God of Israel is bringing His people home. Our teams in Russia will be fully stretched and working under difficult conditions in the coming months.

Let’s continue to pray for Aliyah highways to be open for both Russian and Ukrainian Jews; for temporary sanctuaries provided for the Jewish refugees in the nations to be exactly that: only temporary sanctuaries. May they see the signposts to Zion and press on to the land of Israel!

Fixing our Gaze

FIXING OUR GAZE

FIXING OUR GAZE

Dick Leggatt

In these current times of unprecedented upheaval, where are we to place our focus? If we look around us, the world seems to be in crisis at almost every level. Perhaps you and I need to fix our gaze elsewhere.

When Enemies Gather

In these uncertain days, I have turned often to one of my favorite passages: 2 Chronicles 20. In this chapter of the Bible, an amazing story unfolds regarding the children of Israel under Jehoshaphat’s leadership.

At the beginning of the chapter, the King of Judah receives notification that the armies of three countries are mustering against his little nation. We can all understand how this information might strike fear in his heart. Even so, Jehoshaphat set all of Judah to corporate fasting to seek the Lord together.

Then, he himself stepped forward to lead his subjects in prayer—first declaring God’s power and might, then recounting the many acts of divine faithfulness. Next came his reminder to God of what He Himself had directed His people to do: in times of disaster and crisis, they were to come to His holy temple and cry out to Him for help.

The Cry and the Response

Jehoshaphat’s discourse ends with these words from verse 12: “For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.

Their determination to gaze at the One who had promised to deliver them from disaster resulted in an outpouring of prophetic encouragement and direction.

They heard words like, “Do not be afraid or dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” They heard, “You will not need to fight in this battle.”, followed by specific prophetic instruction as to what action they should take.

In the end, a looming disaster turned into a dramatic deliverance.

Our Focus in Hard Times

Where are we to turn our eyes when everything in the world seems to be aligning itself against us? We gaze upon the One who alone is able to help us, rescue us, and deliver us—by His power, not ours.

A New Testament counterpart to what Jehoshaphat modeled in this story is Hebrews 12:2, which in the New American Standard version begins with these words: “fixing our eyes.” The original Greek translation of that phrase means this: “to turn the eyes away from other things and fix them on something.”

In desperate times, we intentionally turn our eyes from everything that might cause us to shrink back in fear. Instead, we look confidently at the One who can help us, and we focus solely on Him.

A Time for Aliyah

How do all these examples about fixing our gaze on the Lord relate to the role and necessity of Aliyah in these turbulent times?
One fact is undeniable from world history. National crises tend to place our Jewish brothers and sisters in heightened peril. Enemies of God’s chosen people tend to coalesce in such times to target them specifically and increasingly.

With eyes fixed on the One who is able to prevail by His great might, let us trust Him to open the way, fight the battle, and accomplish a great deliverance.

A cry like that of Jehoshaphat could understandably go up from his modern-day brothers and sisters: “For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”

With eyes fixed on the One who is able to prevail by His great might, let us trust Him to open the way, fight the battle, and accomplish a great deliverance.

Yom HaAliyah

Operation Exodus USA is a Christian Ministry that helps Jewish people go home (making Aliyah) to Israel. Article - Yom HaAliyah - A Day to Celebrate Aliyah

Yom HaAliyah (Hebrew: יום העליה) is a national, modern-day holiday celebrated in Israel for many years; it was officially made into law in 2016. This year it begins at sundown on Saturday, October 24, 2020, and ends at nightfall on Sunday, October 25, 2020. The Yom HaAliyah holiday was specifically chosen to be celebrated on the tenth day of the Hebrew month of Nisan, the biblical date on which Joshua led the Jewish people across the Jordan River into the Promised Land.

When you have crossed the Jordan into the land the Lord your God is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster. Write on them all the words of this law when you have crossed over to enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you. Deut 27:2-3 NIV

Aliyah is honored in the modern state of Israel for the vast contributions of the millions of Olim (immigrants) who have returned from the nations to make Israel their home. The Israeli Declaration of Independence document makes a profound opening statement, which reads in part:

The Land of Israel was the birthplace of the Jewish people. Here their spiritual, religious and national identity was formed. Here they achieved independence and created a culture of national and universal significance. Here they wrote and gave the Bible to the world. After being forcibly exiled from their Land, the People kept faith with it throughout their dispersion and never ceased to pray and hope for their return to it and for the restoration in it of their national freedom. Impelled by this historic association, Jews strove throughout the centuries to go back to the land of their fathers and regain statehood. In recent decades, they returned in their masses. They reclaimed a wilderness, revived their language, built cities and villages, and established a vigorous and ever-growing community, with its own economic and cultural life. They sought peace, yet were ever prepared to defend themselves. They brought blessings of progress to all inhabitants of the country.

Aliyah is a prayer in the heart of Jewish people. The profound prayer below is prayed on Shabbat, on Jewish holidays, in Israel and throughout synagogues all over the world.

…Remember our brethren, the whole house of Israel, in all the lands of their dispersion. Speedily bring them to Zion your city, to Jerusalem, dwelling of your name, as it is written in the Torah of your servant Moses: ‘Even if your exiles are at the end of the heavens, the Lord, your God, will gather you from there, and He will take you from there. And the Lord, your God, will bring you to the land which your forefathers possessed, and you too will take possession of it, and He will do good to you, and He will make you more numerous than your forefathers.

Let us join our Jewish brothers and sisters as they honor and celebrate the Olim (immigrants) who have showed such courage and commitment to return to Israel. Let us also continue to pray for the many millions who still need to make that crossing into the Promised Land, the Land God gave to their forefathers.

This year, I’m sure this celebration will look very different, compared to what it has been in years past, but celebrate they will. The Land and the people of Israel demonstrate the love and faithfulness of the covenant God made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Aliyah is a modern-day miracle happening now as God continues to gather His people home to Israel. Nothing can stop the miracle of the greater Aliyah that is coming.

Pictured below is one of the hundreds of people that we have had the honor to assist make Aliyah this year. They are now part of the fabric of Jewish life in the land of milk and honey.

Mathew and family:  “Israel is our history, both familial and as a people. Our roots are planted there, and our future will blossom there.”

Israel is not a land you escape to; it’s a homecoming! Let’s rejoice with millions who are now living in the Land. We have hundreds of people going through the Aliyah process who need our prayers and our support. Please help us to continue to bless our Jewish brothers and sisters; it’s your prayers and your giving that enable us to continue to provide much-needed assistance for the task at hand. Will you pray about making a special contribution for the Aliyah that is continuing to build?

During these unprecedented and critical days, we stand together in prayer for our nation and for the peace of Jerusalem.

Understanding Prophecy

Understanding prophecy

UNDERSTANDING PROPHECY

Understanding prophecyI have in my possession Webster’s New International Dictionary printed in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA, in 1926. It is a big volume with 2,600 pages in small print on India paper, weighing almost 3.5 kg. It came to me when my aunt passed away in 1991. She spent several years in southern California as a companion and caregiver to an elderly artistic lady.

On page 1718 I find the entry for the word, prophecy: “1. The work, function or vocation of a prophet; a. inspired declaration or revelation of the divine will, including moral teaching by warning, consoling, exhorting, giving an example of fellowship with God; b. A declaration of something to come; a foretelling; a prediction; c. The power of prophesying, or foretelling the future.”

I am pleased that the definition is so broad and not limited to just foretelling the future. There are many people who have such a narrow understanding of the concept, and it seems to me that many Christians do as well. A statement on the internet claims that one third of the Bible is prophecy in this sense.

But if we use the full definition from Webster’s Dictionary above we can definitely say that the Bible as a whole is prophecy: inspired revelation of the divine will, including moral teaching by warning, consoling, exhorting, giving an example of fellowship with God. And some parts of the Bible deal with future events and the Lord’s plans, purposes and actions for the coming days as part of the broader understanding.

We read in 2 Timothy 3:16-17: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

This broader understanding of prophecy and the Bible will also serve as a protection against unfruitful speculation regarding the future. The Lord wants us to walk in fellowship with Him, humble, doing His will. Dead works displease Him – how could we serve the living God with dead works? No, the blood of the Messiah cleanses our conscience from dead works. He has made us alive together with the Messiah. He has saved us by grace through faith – it is not of ourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works (so that we could boast).  But we are His workmanship, created in Messiah Yeshua “for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:5-10).

There are, however, a great number of passages in the Bible where the Lord speaks through His prophets regarding the future. But how does He do it?

We find a clue in Hebrews 9:11 – “But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.”   I understand this to mean that when Yeshua gave His life for us on the cross, as the perfect Lamb of God, something of eternal importance took place simultaneously in a tabernacle not of this creation, i.e. entirely outside our time and space. This makes me believe that the Lord in His eternal dwelling, eternally present, sees the past, present and the future of mankind all at once!

So from His perspective the Lord simultaneously sees events that for us will happen tomorrow, a year’s time, a hundred years, or three thousand years into the future. And He not only sees the events, He moves and acts, sending His angels to help and intervene in countless ways. He prepares good works beforehand so that we as His children can walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).

From time to time He reveals some of His intentions and plans for an individual, a family, Israel, or the entire world: “Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7). These revelations are very accurate!

Prime examples are all the prophetic words concerning the Messiah: His birth, life, suffering, death, resurrection, and ascension. The Gospels abound with expressions like “for thus it is written by the prophet”.

Another area of major importance is aliyah, the return of the Jewish people and the restoration of Israel. We find numerous scriptures throughout the Tanakh where the Lord not only foretells the return of the Jews but also brings consolation, comfort, hope and encouragement.

The Lord does not limit Himself to speaking through the prophets and the Scriptures; He speaks through His servants today as well. During our international conference in Jerusalem on 23 January 2016 the Lord gave a word through Paul Clark regarding the burden to bring the aliyah message to the Church. Here is part of the message:

“Commission My faithful servants and anoint them for the work of Aliyah.  Time is short and there is much to be done. In 48 months the world will be a very different place! In this period of grace My church needs to hear that it has a calling to help with the mass Aliyah that is on the horizon … In four years it will be very different and My church has to hear about Aliyah. … there will be great challenges but My grace will be enough …”

Aliyah to Israel Becomes the Journey to Safety in the Midst of COVID-19

A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I Jehovah, will hasten it in its time. Isaiah 60:22 (ASV)

Listen, … the alarm clock of Aliyah is ringing. It is announcing that a wave of Aliyah is coming, and it is coming soon. God says that there is an appointed time for when the alarm clock has been set, and at that certain time it will go off. When the alarm goes off, it is time to go—time for our Jewish friends to go from Hope to Home. Now is the time for them to hear the ringing of the alarm clock. It is also time for us to hear it. Jews and Gentiles need to be ready to arise at the sound of the alarm clock going off.

The whole chapter of Isaiah 60 is a message of great hope for Israel. What especially gets my attention is verse 22, which says that God is going to take Israel, which is a small nation, and increase it to become a strong nation. One way I believe this will happen is by a big wave of Aliyah. The timing for that wave is now. Suddenly, the one thing the world is focused on is COVID-19. The virus has brought a pause to the nations. COVID-19 has become the reason why many Jewish people understand that Israel is their safe haven. Suddenly they no longer feel safe outside of Israel.

For years, we have all prayed and wondered what the green light will be for the Jewish people to know that they know that now is the time to go home to Eretz (Land) Israel, where their safety will be guaranteed. During these challenging days of COVID-19, our Jewish friends understand that the anchors that were keeping them out of Israel are no longer strong enough to keep them grounded in the diaspora. A shaking has taken place. The roots that have kept them in the diaspora are no longer strong enough to keep them there. They are hearing the alarm clock go off, and they are getting up and going home to Eretz Israel.

“And there is hope for your future —declares Hashem: Your children shall return to their country.” Jeremiah 31:16 (The Israel Bible)

From 1945 to COVID-19 Global Pandemic

From 1945 to COVID-19 Global Pandemic

With the miracle of Israel’s rebirth in its ancient homeland in May 1948, a new period in biblical prophecy and geopolitical actuality started. Over 70 per cent of the Jewish Holocaust survivors eventually reached Eretz Israel, their ancient new homeland. In Europe, and one could argue in the Western world, the end of WWII began a Golden Age of unprecedented political freedom, religious liberty, and economic progress. Since the Holocaust, anti-Semitism has become taboo, and Jews in the Western world have enjoyed the same stable conditions as have their fellow citizens.

The anti-Semitism of the past two decades is a troubling and growing phenomenon. The scale suggests Jews of today may have to face the same choices their grandparents faced. Anti-Semitism has become reality on university campuses and in media, NGOs, and some churches. The hatred comes from every political group and brings together people and ideas that otherwise have nothing in common. Verbal violence has escalated to vandalism against Jewish targets and murderous attacks against Jewish worshipers. Synagogues and community centers in Europe and the USA have been spray-painted with ugly slogans.

Dr. Susanna Kokkonen has her degree in Holocaust Studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She worked as the Director of Christian Friends of Yad Vashem in Jerusalem    between 2008 – 2018.

She frequently travels around the world speaking about anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, and persecution of Christians. Her book Journey to the   Holocaust: Anti-Semitism, the Bible, and History’ is now available on Amazon.

Her website is: www.susannakokkonen.com

During COVID-19, anti-Semitism has spread like wildfire in the social media. Iran’s leaders and media have accused Israel of spreading the virus. In social media across Europe and the USA, the virus is sometimes drawn with a Jewish face. In the USA, various writers instructed anti-Jewish activists who have tested positive to enter synagogues—this to spread the virus into Jewish communities. Israeli deaths are being celebrated online. Finally, as researchers around the world are struggling to find a COVID-19 cure, one thing is evident: if Israeli scientists are the first to succeed, this will be seen as a Jewish effort to benefit from the crisis.

Thus, anti-Semitism is very much alive and part of current societal discourse. In the anti-Semitic worldview, Jews and Israel are to be hated. Nothing they can do or say can change this.

What are we to do? We must stand against hatred. My advice is to pray and act. I am thankful that ministries such as Operation Exodus USA have taken a strong stand against anti-Semitism, and they support and stand with Israel while encouraging and materially supporting those who wish to make Aliyah.

Impact on Aliyah and the Church

Dear Friends and Partners,

In the midst of anarchy, Aliyah continues to grow and take root in the hearts of Jewish people throughout the Diaspora. Jews living in the U.S.A. are being shaken to their core, and many are making their voices heard. Just a couple of days ago—in a video posted on Arutz Sheva (Israeli news media network)—Rabbi Zecharia Wallerstein, founder of Ateres Naava Seminary in Brooklyn, New York, made a personal appeal for American Jews to make Aliyah. The following are highlights of the video:
— “All of us, we all need to get out of here, it’s not for us anymore everybody.
It’s just not for us. We don’t belong here.…Hashem (G-d) took away a lot of the money that was keeping us here, the education that was keeping us here.…Hashem, help us. I should have the koach (strength) to lead you… It’s written in all the sefarim (holy books), what’s gonna happen. Whoever’s stuck in galus (exile) when Mashiach (the messiah) comes, some of us are not even going to make it to Eretz Yisrael, and it’s the best place for Jews.”

Rabbi Zecharia Wallerstein calls on US Jews to make Aliyah

“It’s not for us anymore everybody. It’s just not for us. We don’t belong here.”

I urge you to listen to Rabbi’s Zecharia’s video. Clearly, He sees the handwriting on the wall and understands time is running out for Jews living in America. He is asking Hashem to help his people decide to make Aliyah now! Thank God for our privilege to join Rabbi Zecharia in his prayer. Scripture seems to describe this moment in time: For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on, and the covering too narrow to wrap oneself in. Isaiah 28:20 GW

This crisis brings a tremendous opportunity for the Church to raise its voice in support of Israel and Jews living all around us. We have a responsibility to stand with them, encourage, pray and bless them through their Aliyah. We are the voice of the Church, and we cannot stand by in silence.

I would like to share an extremely timely and relevant word/teaching written by Merrill Bolender, titled SHAKING OF ALL THINGS. This teaching (see link below) helps us identify with God’s purposes and better equips us to pray according to His perfect will.

Merrill and his wife Donna are valiant servants of God, deeply respected and loved by all at OEUSA. For decades, their faithful commitment in prayer and support for this holy work has never wavered. They serve OEUSA as area representatives in the Great Lakes region. Merrill’s book, WHEN THE CROSS BECAME A SWORD: The Origin and Consequences of Replacement Theology, is now printed in sixteen languages and available on six continents.

To obtain Merrill’s book, please call our National Office.  You will learn shocking information regarding the tragic role Christians played in the persecution of Jews for centuries. This is a valuable tool to share with family and friends so they recognize the many forms of anti-Semitism.

God is in our midst, and He is greater than the pandemic and the anarchy we are facing. We are the salt of the earth and a light to the nations! We walk in victory by the power and authority we have in Christ Jesus.

Thank you, friends and partners, for your support in prayer and giving of your finances. We trust the LORD to touch your hearts to give abundantly, above and beyond the need at hand.
